Woman, 18, airlifted after head-on crash

An 18-year-old Angola-area woman was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital after a head-on crash Thursday morning in rural Steuben County.

Deputies were called to Steuben County Road 200 West about 7:05 a.m., according to a written statement issued by Sheriff Tim Troyer.

A vehicle driven by Cody Hess, 20, of Angola was heading north and went left of center just north of County Road 100 North, striking an SUV driven by Jennie Archbold, 37, of Angola, the statement said.

18-year-old Alexandra Concus was a passenger in the Hess vehicle, and the sheriff’s statement indicated she had a head injury. Her condition was not immediately available.

The sheriff said Hess, Archbold and their other passengers refused medical treatment at the scene.
