Ray Manzarek, a founding member of The Doors whose versatile and often haunting keyboards complemented Jim Morrison’s gloomy baritone and helped set the mood for some of rock’s most enduring songs, has died. He was 74.The free Elton John performance that can be heard at Sweetwater Sound later this week is "virtually booked up," the company said this afternoon.
John is performing at a theater in Anaheim, Calif., but it will be streamed live on the Web, Sweetwater Sound said in a statement. It said his piano keystrokes are to be recreated note for note, in real time, on remote instruments, while an accompanying orchestra is seen and heard on adjacent monitors in real time.
