About 3 p.m. Thursday the Rev. Bill McGill looked out of his window and pondered that it was the 37th day of his 40-day fast to draw attention to violence in the community, and there had been no civilian-on-civilian homicides in Fort Wayne.Flames heavily damaged a house Sunday near Engle and Bluffton roads, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.
Fire crews were dispatched to 3020 Allegany Ave. just before noon, and found heavy fire and smoke on the first floor in the living room, the department said.
Crews doused the flames and searched the two-story house but found no one.
The fire was under control in 20 minutes and did not spread beyond the first floor, the department said.
The cause is under investigation.
