VanHorn has 46 in win for Canterbury

Trent VanHorn scored 46 points for Canterbury in an 89-59 win against Clinton Christian in a boys basketball game Saturday.

VanHorn made three three-pointers and scored 17 points in the second quarter. He scored 14 points in the fourth quarter.

Chase Moyle added 15 points for the Cavaliers.

BISHOP LUERS 76, MUNCIE BURRIS 59: James Blackmon Jr. scored 38 points for the Knights in a road victory. Vijay Blackmon added 14 points for Bishop Luers.

COLUMBIA CITY 47, DEKALB 46: Derek Hinen scored 14 points for the Eagles in a home win. Austin Paul added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Adison Daub led DeKalb with 22 points. Austin Macy had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Barons.

EASTSIDE 68, CENTRAL NOBLE 49: Jayden Lilly had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Blazers in a home win. PJ Dean scored 20 points in the win. Alex Vice led Central Noble with 16 points. Brock Noe added 14 points.

ANDERSON 104, LEO 87: AJ Busche scored 27 points and Sam Waters had 21 for the Lions in a home loss. David Hardin scored 14 points. Bryce Beer scored 12 points.

Girls basketball

WOODLAN 46, SOUTH ADAMS 37: Haley Hostetler scored 13 points for the Warriors in a home win. Jaryn Malfait and Lauren Ehle had 11 and 10 points, respectively, in the victory.

Alyssa Bluhm scored 17 points for South Adams. Dzejna Ahmetovic scored 10 points.

PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 38, FREMONT 36: Shae Rhonehouse had 17 points for the Eagles in a home loss. Miranda White added 11 points and eight rebounds. Kayla Freeney scored 12 points for the Panthers.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 57, NEW CASTLE 50: Allyson Trout had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Vikings in a home victory. Lindsey Foster added 11 points. Kelsey Hollowell had seven points and eight assists.

GARRETT 34, SOUTHERN WELLS 29: Brandi Dawson scored 15 points for the Railroaders in a home win. Katie Wisel had nine points for Garrett.

Ashton Prible, Sam Rhodes and Catie Horton each had six points for Southern Wells.

LAKELAND 43, HAMILTON 35: Lindsey Upp had 13 points for the Mariners in a home loss. Lindsey Stoy added 12 points.


CONCORDIA CARTER CLASSIC: Bishop Dwenger finished second at the event. Valparaiso won with a total of 109.175. Bishop Dwenger had 108.150 and Merrillville was third 100.100. The Saints’ Katy Linvill won the bars and floor and took second in the all-around.

Boys swimming

OAK HILL 102, NORWELL 82: Duke Wang won the 100-yard butterfly and Alex Mills won the 50-yard free for the Knights.

Norwell’s team of Wang, Mills, Logan Ackley and Adam Nahrwold won the 200-yard medley relay. Wang, Mills and Ackley were joined by Michael Huggins for the first-place 200 free relay.

Girls swimming

OAK HILL 134, NORWELL 48: Kayla DeRemer won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:13.92 for the Knights.
