Charge: Ind. jail officer had female inmates strip

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana jail officer has been charged with coaxing female inmates into stripping for him.

The Reporter-Times reports that 21-year-old Morgan County jail officer Nicholas Tankersley of Martinsville was fired after he was charged with sexual battery, official misconduct, theft and battery. There was no answer at the jail Saturday. Tankersley's number was unlisted.

Several female inmates claimed Tankersley told them he would provide them with extra sheets or other items in violation of jail rules if they exposed their breasts or stripped in front of him. A probable cause affidavit alleged two inmates said Tankersley had them do a sex show for him.

Another female inmate Tankersley said touched her breast while she lay on her bunk.

The affidavit says Tankersley admitted to most of the acts.
