21-year-old admits to rape at party

A 21-year-old Fort Wayne man admitted Friday to raping a woman at a party on Jan. 1, 2012.

Charles D. Burrage, of the 700 block of Oaklawn Court, pleaded guilty to rape in Allen Superior Court. As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, an additional count of criminal deviate conduct will be dismissed when he is sentenced.

He faces two years in prison and four years on probation when he is sentenced next month.

According to court documents, Burrage assaulted the woman after she became ill from consuming too much alcohol. As the woman recovered on a bathroom floor, Burrage went into the bathroom and began to touch her sexually, court records said.

She told police he pushed her backward when she told him to stop, causing her to strike her head on the sink. He then unbuckled his pants and had sex with her, in spite of her pleas that he stop, according to court documents.
