Mastodons face UMKC tonight

IPFW is looking for its second straight win - for the fourth time this season.

The Mastodons (9-11, 2-4 Summit League) meet UMKC (5-14, 2-5) at Memorial Coliseum tonight.

A win would mark the fourth time this season that IPFW has won two in a row. The Mastodons beat Texas-Pan American and Rochester back-to-back early in the season, beat Judson and Dartmouth, and on Jan. 2 and 5, beat Navy and Nebraska Omaha.

Beating the Kangaroos would mark the first time this season that IPFW has won consecutive games in the Summit League.

Senior guard Frank Gaines continues to lead the team in scoring with an 18.5 average, and junior Luis Jacobo is the only other IPFW player averaging in double figures at 11.1.

UMKC, which has lost 10 of its last 11 games, is led by 6-foot1 guard Estan Taylor, with an 11.4 average.
