Scary moment

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- There was no scoring in the second period at Wings Stadium. The Kalamazoo Wings still lead the Komets 3-2.

The big moment of the period came when Fort Wayne defenseman Ryan Hegarty lost an edge in the corner, just as Nick Sirota was lining him up for a hit. So as Hegarty fell, he got hit high. He left the game but did return.

Fort Wayne has outshot Kalamazoo 31-22.
