6 students hurt in Indianapolis bus-truck crash

INDIANAPOLIS – Six students have suffered injuries after a school bus and a truck collided in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Fire Capt. Rita Burris said the injured students are between the ages of 9 and 16. She said the injuries appear to be minor. They’ve been transported to Riley Hospital for Children and to Methodist Hospital.

The collision Friday afternoon on the city’s northeast side involved a bus from the Indiana Science and Math Academy, an Indianapolis charter school.

WRTV-TV reports the front end of the truck was badly damaged, and the bus appeared to have damage to its back end.
