A Fort Wayne man faces felony charges after fleeing police in a stolen car, according to court documents.

Justin M. Alexander, 33, was charged Wednesday with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, resisting law enforcement and two counts of receiving stolen auto parts, all felonies.

Alexander, of the 500 block of East Rudisill Boulevard, was also charged with misdemeanor resisting law enforcement.

On Jan. 11, Alexander was stopped at a light on Taylor Street when a city police officer noticed he was driving a Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen. The officer tried to pull him over, but Alexander fled, making several turns and eventually losing control of the vehicle and running into a porch near Madison Street, court documents said.

Alexander was charged in May 1999 with receiving stolen auto parts and October 2002 with felony battery and robbery charges. He was sentenced to 1 1/2 years in the first case and four years for the battery and robbery charges.

He was being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $37,500 bail.
