D-League preview: Mad Ants vs. Los Angeles

When: 10 p.m. today

Where: El Segundo, Calif.

Records: Mad Ants 10-10, Los Angeles 6-10

Web:

www.fortwaynehoops.com

Mad Ants leaders: Ron Howard (19.8 ppg), Luke Harangody (14.7 rpg), Howard (4.7 apg)

Los Angeles leaders: Courtney Fortson (19.7 ppg), Ronald Dupree (7.2 rpg), Fortson (5.7 apg)

Key matchup: Former Notre Dame player Luke Harangody has been a beast recently. The forward who has yet to lose in a Mad Ants uniform has had five double-doubles in the seven games played. In his last three outings, Harangody has had 19 points, 21 rebounds; 18 and 10, and 27 and 18.

The skinny: A victory over Los Angeles tonight, and the Ants will double what was once the franchise’s longest winning streak – four. Along the way, the Ants have blasted most of their opponents. A six-point win over Tulsa in the second game of the D-League Showcase in Reno, Nev., is the only time the team has not won by double digits during the winning streak. Three of the wins have been by 24 points or more – Erie (28), Santa Cruz (28) and Erie (24). … Los Angeles enters the game on a two-game losing streak, both to Bakersfield. The D-Fenders have a former Ants player in 6-foot-11 Jarrid Famous, who averages 10.5 points and 7 rebounds.
