Eifert training in Florida

Tyler Eifert will get ready for his NFL career in Florida.

The former Notre Dame and Bishop Dwenger standout is training at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., as he prepares for the NFL draft, according to his mother, Julie.

Linebacker Manti Te'o is also training at IMG, according to reports.

The 6-foot-6, 251-pounder, who played in one game as a freshman before a back injury forced him to miss the rest of the season, announced after the Irish's 42-14 loss to Alabama in the BCS championship game that he would not use his final year of eligibility at Notre Dame.

Eifert graduated in December.

Eifert left Notre Dame as the school's all-time leader in receptions (140) and receiving yards (1,840) by a tight end. He had 11 touchdowns with the Irish.

Eifert signed with agent Tom Condon, Julie Eifert said.
