I've never tried this, so hopefully it works out. I got Mike Hoban's game-winning overtime goal myself.
Here it is, frame by frame.
As for what Hoban had to say after the game ...
"That's what four-on-four hockey is all about," he said. "There's a lot of open space, extra time with the puck. I got a good pass from Nick (Wheeler) going up the ice and I just took advantage of it."
The Komets have been getting great contributions from the newcomers.
"Everyone was up for the game and wanted to play their best," said Hoban, after the Komets (21-17-2) won 2 of 3 against the Cyclones (22-12-4) in the span of three days. "There's a lot of energy. We want to make simple plays. It worked out in the end for us."
Goaltender Kenny Reiter stopped 41 of 43 shots for Fort Wayne.
After the game, Brandon Marino and Jean-Michel Rizk were called up to Norfolk of the American Hockey League.
Marino has 12 goals and a team-leading 44 points in 40 games. Rizk has a team-leading 15 goals and 24 points in 40 games.
Meanwhile, Komets captain Colin Chaulk, who was hospitalized this weekend because his foot infection worsened, missed a 21st straight game.
