  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

Jackrabbits run by men

IPFW watched a five-point lead early in the second half disintegrate into an 83-57 loss to South Dakota State on Saturday in Brookings, S.D.

The Mastodons (8-11, 1-4 Summit League) took a 39-34 lead on Luis Jacobo's three-pointer 1:49 into the second half. But the Jackrabbits (13-6, 4-2) took off on a 31-10 run over the next 10 minutes to blow away IPFW.

Frank Gaines led the Mastodons with 18 points, and Joe Reed had 15.

Nate Wolters led South Dakota State with 29 points. He was 10 of 18 from the floor and 7 of 7 from the free throw line.
