Komets tied after 1

All these new Komets players may not know the systems, but they do bring a lot of energy.

And the Komets are using it; they are tied at 1 with the Cincinnati Cyclones tonight after one period.

The Komets' goal was a beauty. During a 2-on-2 rush, Matt Firman sent a pass to Eric Giosa, who one-handed the puck into the net.

Cincinnati answered with a Josh Birkholz goal.

Some other things ...

Former Komets player Matt Syroczynski, the Playoff MVP in the IHL in 2010, has signed with Florida of the ECHL.

And Cincinnati's newest player, 36-year-old Nello Ferrara, is the grandon of the creator of Lemonheads. Yummy.
