A Fort Wayne woman faces several theft-related charges after authorities said she used her dying mothers license and other identification to buy a 2009 Chevy Tahoe.
Jamie L. Boyd, also known as Jamie Lorraine Hatch and Jamie L. McClure, was charged Tuesday with fraud on a financial institution, theft and identity deception.
Boyd, 52, of the 5200 block of Bellevue Drive, bought the Tahoe on Nov. 12, 2011, under the name of Elizabeth McClure – her then-hospitalized mother.
Boyd received $41,685.29 in financing to buy the vehicle, according to court records.
Elizabeth McClure died six days later, court documents said.
Boyd was being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
