JumBy's JoiNt, a local food truck that specializes in American food such as burgers and dogs, has been nominated for Mobile Cuisine's 2012 Food Truck Rookie of the Year.

The mobile unit is up against 17 other food trucks with hometowns ranging from San Diego, Calif., to Boston and is one of two Indiana trucks nominated. Owner Jim Garigen isn't sure how JumBy's was nominated, but he suspects it was from one of the 27 charities he donated to last year. JumBy's first popped up on Mobile Cuisine's radar when it fed some who lost power after last summer's storm, he says.
