North-side home damaged by fire

A fire heavily damaged a house Saturday in north Fort Wayne.

About 2:30 p.m., a neighbor reported seeing flames at 8125 Pepperwood Court, near Lima and West Wallen roads, the city fire department said.

When firefighters arrived, flames on the outside of the one-story house had spread to the attic.

It took 22 minutes to bring the fire under control, the department said.

The cause is under investigation.
