Victim badly injured in shooting on Winter

A man was seriously injured in a shooting Saturday night on Fort Wayne's south side, police said.

An argument between two groups of men in the 3500 block of Winter Street escalated when one of the groups opened fire on the other, said officer Chris Felton, city police spokesman.

Several rounds were exchanged. Police were called at 9:48 p.m. and found the victim on Oxford Street nearby, Felton said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition late Saturday.
