Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College, 2388 South 500 West, Albion, is hosting “Worshipping with Creation: A Women’s Spirituality Retreat” from 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25 to 7 p.m. Jan. 26. The retreat will include time to reflect on biblical texts related to nature and guidance in developing worship rituals. Cost is $45 or $25 for students. Register at by Jan. 14.

Concordia Theological Seminary, 6600 N. Clinton St., is having its 2013 Symposia Series from Jan. 22 to 25. The theme is “Love and Marriage: Does the Bible Still Mean What It Says?” Presenters will discuss topics including the theology of the body and the value of children. Carl C. Fickenscher II of Fort Wayne had his work in the field of Lutheran history recognized at the Concordia Historical Institute’s 38th annual awards banquet. Fickenscher was recognized for his journal articles “The Preaching of C.F.W. Walther.”
