Ants blast Santa Cruz again

The Mad Ants matched the franchise's longest winning streak Saturday with a 118-90 runaway victory over Santa Cruz at Memorial Coliseum.

It was the fourth consecutive win for the Ants (7-10), marking the fifth time in the team's six years of existence that the team has won four in a row. The last time was in the 2010-11 season.

Santa Cruz entered Fort Wayne on Thursday on a five-game winning streak and owned the best record in the D-League at 9-2, but the Warriors left with their lone two-game losing streak of the year.

The Ants clung to a 54-47 halftime lead, but outscored the Warriors 64-43 in the second half.

Seven Ants players scored in double figures, led by Tony Mitchell with 21 points. Sadiel Rojas had 20.

Fort Wayne takes its show on the road for the next seven games. The Ants plays Saturday at Erie.
