Brown elected commissioners' president

Therese Brown will lead her fellow Allen County commissioners during the coming year after being elected president Friday. Past president Nelson Peters will serve as vice president and Linda Bloom will serve as secretary.

The commissioners also approved new appointments to 16 different boards or commissions, including Dr. Abraham Schwab to the Allen County Ethics Commission.

Schwab is an assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy at IPFW and will replace Thomas Ryan on the three-member commission. Ryan resigned Oct. 29.
