After they lost 4-2 to the Cincinnati Cyclones tonight at Memorial Coliseum, this was pointed out to me by the Komets: Cincinnati has 15 players on its roster contracted to higher-level teams, while Fort Wayne has seven.

That's staggering if you think about it.

"They are really good," said Jean-Michel Rizk, who scored, as did Corey Elkins. "They are really good on transition. That's a team that you have to make sure you take care of the puck against. That's something we talked about before the game; they're a quick transition team and they score on their chances. They don't need 10 chances to score. But it's good for us to play them. They are upper-level players and it will make us better to play them."

The Komets had a lot of energy tonight. I thought they played well, considering how good Cincinnati is and that it leads the North Division.

Not sure if Luca Caputi or Matt Firman will be able to play Saturday at Cincinnati. They have undisclosed injuries. I've also heard rumbling another player may be called up, but I can't confirm that at this point.

Even though the Komets dropped this game, this is back-to-back strong efforts by them against two of the best teams in the ECHL, Gwinnett (who they beat 4-2) and Cincinnati.

I'd say things are looking up.

Oh, and by the way, what do you think of Marco Cousineau? He's better than I thought. Not that I thought he was bad, but he makes some really good saves.
