Two-time state championship winning coach Dave Miller admitted his Concordia girls basketball team did a good job of handling South Side's vaunted press Friday in a matchup of SAC unbeatens.
But it didn't matter much in the Archers' 55-40 win.
South Side (13-2, 3-0 SAC) got some turnovers from Concordia, which had 16 miscues, but many of those were unforced.
But the Cadets (9-4, 2-1) had no answer for South Side's offensive balance, which included Brittni Clopton's 12 points and 10 points each from Lynnia Noel, Maria Moore and Ariana Simmons.
South Side was 16 of 22 in the first half shooting the ball, good for 72 percent.
The defense wasn't dominant, but the offense was effective enough to compensate.
