Verbatim: 2 dead in house fire

A report received Thursday morning:

On January 3, 2013 at 1:07 AM Williams County 9-1-1 received a cellphone call of a reported structure fire at 316 North Beech Street. Bryan Fire, and Police were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival of units they found a fully involved house fire with reported people trapped inside on the second floor of the home. The fire was brought under control around 3:00 AM, and a search ensured for the reported victims. At 3:38 AM 2 victims were confirmed dead by Fire Chief Bruce Siders and Coroner Dr. Kevin Park. The identification of the victims has not been confirmed and is pending the notification of victims families.

Autopsies will be conducted at the Lucas County Coroners office to complete the identifications of the victims and to the cause and manner of death.

The State Fire Marshals office was contacted to respond to the scene and is aiding in the investigation. Further details will follow once identification has been confirmed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

Bryan Firefighters were assisted through Automatic mutual aid by Edgerton, Montpelier, Brady Township, and Alvordton Fire Departments.

Crews were still on the scene at the time of this press release.
