IPFW tops Navy

IPFW ended a two-game losing streak with a 68-63 victory over Navy on Wednesday at the Gates Center.

The Mastodons (7-9) atoned for a five-point loss to the Midshipmen earlier this season in Annapolis, Md.

Junior swingman Luis Jacobo led IPFW with 22 points, Frank Gaines had 17 and sophomore guard Joe Edwards added 15.

IPFW recovered from a 54-50 deficit with 7:08 left to play with 10 straight points - five from Gaines, a three-pointer from Jacobo and a fastbreak layup from Edwards with 4:35 left to send the Mastodons ahead 60-54.
