Notre Dame’s defense has been strong when opponents get inside the Irish’s 20-yard line.

Of the 95 plays run inside Notre Dame’s red zone, the Irish recorded more sacks (nine) then they gave up touchdowns (eight), according to ESPN Stats & Information.

Notre Dame also held teams to just 54 rushing yards on 60 running plays inside its red zone after giving up at least two yards per rush inside the the 20 in the last seven seasons.
