Mad Antics

  • NBA veteran Jones back with Ants
The Mad Ants have signed Dahntay Jones, who played for the Mad Ants in 2007-08 and averaged 24.4 points and 4.6 rebounds over 10 games.
  • Payne returning to Atlanta
Adreian Payne has returned to the Atlanta Hawks, but there is a chance he could return to the Mad Ants for their game Friday at Memorial Coliseum.
  • Mad Ants grab 1st win of season
Led by 28 points from Andre Emmett, the Mad Ants got their first victory over the season Saturday night, defeating the Erie Bayhawks 103-93 in front of 4,617 fans at Erie Insurance Arena.

What a game to pick, eh?

Justin Cohn, filling in for Steve Warden here at the Mad Ants' game against the Texas Legends, and I guess I couldn't have picked a better one to be here for, eh?

It only seems to be a game in the midst of the most frantic two days in franchise history.

Of course, the Mad Ants traded away two of its biggest stars -- JaJuan Johnson and Walker Russell Jr. -- for Luke Harangody (of Notre Dame fame), Anthony Richardson and Jack Mclinton.

That's a pretty clear indictment of the Mad Ants' 3-10 record heading into this game against the 8-4 Legends.

Expected to be in the starting lineup already are Harangody and Richardson.

With change, you certainly need to lean on your veterans to help ease the transition, so I guess we need to look for Ron Howard to be big tonight at Memorial Coliseum. He is averaging 20.4 points this season.
