Coach Al Sims and captain Colin Chaulk retired, and now so has the goaltender who backstopped them to four championships between 2008 and 2012.The good news is that the Komets and their worst-ranked power play scored twice with goals from Josh Brittain and Garrett Klotz, but that was about the only positive storyline from the 5-2 loss to the Toledo Walleye on Memorial Coliseum on Thursday night.
Four straight goals in the second period gave the Walleye a 4-0 lead, and Toledo took 31 of the first 41 shots.
Max Campbell had the Walley's first hat trick of the season.
