Verbatim: Mercer snow alert declared

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey issued this statement today

AT 2:00 PM ON 12/26/2012 Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey issued a Level Three snow emergency for unincorporated areas of Mercer Couty. This includes all state routes, county roads, and township roads in the unincorporated parts of Mercer County. A Level Three snow emergency means roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads are closed except for emergency personnel. No one should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel. Those traveling on the roadways are subject to arrest. You should contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Employers have the descretion to make that determination. Sheriff's office cruisers will not respone to standard motorist calls unless there is a life-threating emergency.
