Terrific, scoreless period

The Komets and Trenton Titans played a very exciting first period at Memorial Coliseum, even though neither team scored a goal.

The Titans outshot the Komets 16-12, though the Komets had the better batch of scoring chances.

Thomas Beauregard, in particular, had two good ones for Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne goalie Charlie Effinger had perhaps the best save of the season, kicking his right leg out to stop Andy Bohmbach.
