Winter weather advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory through 7 p.m. Friday for an area including Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Steuben, Wabash and Wells counties.

The weather service said snow may be heavy at times late tonight into early Friday.

In addition to snow accumulation, strong winds will develop tonight and into Friday morning with frequent gusts of 25 to 35 mph, the weather service said. It said gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible.

Total snowfall accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected by midday Friday, the weather service said. It said strong winds will cause blowing and drifting snow.

Travel may become very difficult tonight into Friday morning because of snow and blowing snow, the weather service said. It said minor wind damage and sporadic power outages are possible.
