A.J. Hammons had 15 points and five rebounds as Purdue defeated Ball State 66-56 Tuesday at Mackey Arena.
Terone Johnson scored 14 points. D.J. Byrd and Ronnie Johnson each scored 11 points as the Boilermakers pulled away late. Jacob Lawson finished with six points and 10 rebounds.
Purdue (5-6) snapped a two-game losing streak. The Cardinals' three-game winning streak also came to an end.
The Cardinals (5-5) led 47-45 with two free throws by Majok Majok with 8:33 to go.
Purdue responded with a 7-0 run to take control.
Jesse Berry scored 22 points to lead Ball State.
