2 teens injured in DeKalb crash

Two Garrett teenagers were taken to a local hospital after a one-vehicle crash Thursday.

Lisa Schewe, 18, and Tommy Colvard, 17, were traveling south on County Road 3 when Schewe lost control of a Dodge Intrepid and flipped the car into a ditch, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said.

The car came to rest on its top in the ditch along County Road 3 south of County Road 48 in Altona.

Colvard was listed in fair condition at Parkview Hospital Randallia.

The condition of Schewe was not available Thursday night.

Witnesses said Colvard and Schewe appeared to be arguing at the time of the crash and were driving aggressively, almost losing control several times before the crash, police said.

Schewe was not a licensed driver and charges are pending, police said.
