Fifty representatives of Air National Guard bases around the nation are in Fort Wayne this week to improve ancillary training programs.
The 122nd Fighter Wings Col. David Augustine is the host for the AFSO 21 event. That is shorthand for Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century, a systemwide effort to streamline procedures and practices. Augustine was chosen by Lt. Gen. Harry Wyatt, director of the Air National Guard.
Ancillary training includes such areas as self-administered emergency medical care, chemical defense skills, gun safety and regulations related to domestic violence.
Augustine said materials produced in this weeks sessions, including a computer video, will be used in training for the 106,700 airmen in 54 states and U.S. territories.
