Decatur store hit by battery thieves

Decatur police are asking the public’s help in finding two people accused of stealing more than $500 worth of used vehicle batteries from the Decatur Walmart.

About 8:45 a.m. Nov. 27, two people in a Penske moving van entered the parking lot and drove toward a secured fence by the Walmart Tire and Lube Express area.

One of the thieves cut a lock off the fence door before entering the area and stealing about 50 used vehicle batteries, police said.
