Name game

Ryan Grooms, the head football equipment manager at Notre Dame, posted a picture on his Twitter account Monday that showed Manti Te’o’s last name on the back of the jersey he will wear for the BCS championship game when the No. 1 Irish (12-0) play No. 2 Alabama (12-1).

Notre Dame does not have names the back of jerseys during the regular season, but Ara Parseghian started the tradition of putting names on the jerseys for bowl games when he coached the Irish.
