Gas station clerk Maced in robbery

A gas station clerk was threatened with a gun and then pepper-sprayed during a southwest-side robbery, according to a report.

Officers were called to the Valero station at 3730 Engle Road, near Ardmore Avenue, shortly before 12:30 a.m. Monday. The cashier told police a man pointed a black-and-silver, semiautomatic handgun at her and demanded cash, the report said.

A second robber pepper-sprayed her in the face before the two left with money from two register drawers, the report said.

Both men wore dark clothing and had their hoods up, and one covered his face with a camouflage scarf or mask, the clerk told police.
