Girl Scouts sponsoring essay contest for trip

Girls in fourth grade and up are invited to enter an essay contest to win a chance to meet with government leaders in Washington, D.C. The contest is sponsored by Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana.

All entries must answer the question “Why is it important to engage in our government process?” Entries must be submitted by 9 p.m. Friday.

Two winners, who will be announced Saturday, will travel to Washington, D.C., for a two-night stay Jan. 2-4.
