Film critics love “Lincoln.” The historical drama earned a record-breaking 13 nominations for the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association announced the nominees for its 18th annual awards ceremony Tuesday in Los Angeles.

“Lincoln” beat the 12 nods earned by 2010’s “Black Swan” with bids for director Steven Spielberg, star Daniel Day-Lewis and supporting actors Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones, as well as cinematography, adapted screenplay, costume design, makeup, editing, art direction, score and acting ensemble.

“Les Miserables” follows with 11 nominations and “Silver Linings Playbook” has 10. “Life of Pi” earned nine nods. “Argo,” “Skyfall” and “The Master” each have seven.

Winners will be announced Jan. 10.

Samberg to emcee Spirit Awards

Andy Samberg will host the 2013 Spirit Awards, the nonprofit Film Independent announced Tuesday.

The awards take place in the afternoon on Feb. 23 and will air that night on IFC. The Academy Awards are the next night.

“Moonrise Kingdom” and “Silver Linings Playbook” lead Spirit Award nominations with five nods each.

Image Awards announce nominees

“Flight,” “Django Unchained,” “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” “Red Tails” and “Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds” are up for the outstanding motion picture trophy at the 44th annual NAACP Image Awards.

The outstanding actor in a motion picture nominees are Denzel Washington for “Flight,” Jamie Foxx for “Django Unchained,” Morgan Freeman for “The Magic of Belle Isle,” Suraj Sharma for “Life of Pi” and Tyler Perry for “Alex Cross.”

The outstanding actress nominees are Emayatzy Corinealdi for “Middle of Nowhere,” Halle Berry for “Cloud Atlas,” Loretta Devine for “In the Hive,” Quvenzhane Wallis for “Beasts of the Southern Wild” and Viola Davis for “Won’t Back Down.”

The ceremony is scheduled to air Feb. 1.

Discovery plans scripted miniseries

The Discovery network has ordered its first scripted miniseries. It’s about hunting for gold.

The series, titled “Klondike,” is about six strangers in the1890s whose lives intersect as they search for gold in Alaska. It is based on the Charlotte Gray novel “Gold Diggers: Striking it Rich in the Klondike” and production will start in March in Alberta, Canada.
