Komets top Wings

Luca Caputi scored two goals as the Komets defeated Kalamazoo 7-3 Wednesday at Memorial Coliseum.

Caputi scored the game's first two goals. He had goals at 4:37 and 9:23. Caputi entered the game with two goals for the season.

Matt Firman made it 3-0 with a goal at 12:37. It's the fourth goal of the year by Firman.

Kalamazoo came right back to score. Nick Sirota had the goal at 12:58 to make it 3-1.

The Komets scored twice in the second period to extend the lead.

Jean-Michel Rizk scored at 2:57 to make it 4-1. It was his ninth goal of the season.

Josh Brittain made it 5-1 with a goal at 9:42.

Aaron Clarke and John Armstrong scored in the third period to cut the deficit to 5-3.

Brittain added two more goals 10 seconds apart in the game's closing minute for the hat trick. He has 10 goals for the season.
