Man, 59, arrested in Walgreens’ arson try

A Fort Wayne man is accused of setting fires outside a drugstore after arguing with a manager inside the business.

On Sunday, customers smelled smoke in the Walgreens at 2410 Coliseum Blvd. N., and when employees went outside, they found two fires next to the business and extinguished them, according to authorities. The fires sent smoke into a storage area and damaged some items, court papers stated.

According to court papers, police found Kyee Myint, 59, near the Walgreens shortly afterward. Surveillance video showed him in the store arguing with a manager and later in the area of one of the fires when it started, court papers stated.

Kyee Myint, of the 2700 block of McKinnie Avenue, was preliminarily charged Monday with two felony counts of attempted arson. He was in custody at the Allen County Jail, with a bail of $20,000.
