Molester handed 31 years in prison

– A Fort Wayne man was sentenced Friday to 31 1/2 years in prison for child molesting and other charges.

In November, an Allen Superior Court jury convicted Wayne Wasson, 32, of three counts of child molesting, one count of sexual battery and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to court documents, Wasson hung out with two girls, both younger than 18, one night a year ago and provided them with moonshine, vodka and wine. He then molested one of the girls, who was 13 at the time.

Judge John Surbeck sentenced Wasson on Friday to a total of 31 1/2 years in prison – including 30 years on the most serious charge of child molesting.
