INDIANAPOLIS – Rotnei Clarke and Kellen Dunham scored 17 points apiece, and Butler took control early in an 87-55 victory over crosstown rival IUPUI on Wednesday night.
Clarke hit four three-pointers and Dunham had three for the Bulldogs (6-2), who never trailed, opened the game on a 35-8 run and led by as many as 37 in the second half. Andrew Smith added 11 points, Erik Fromm and Khyle Marshall had 10 apiece, and every player on Butlers roster saw at least 4 minutes of action.
The Bulldogs shot 56 percent from the floor and made 11 of their 21 three-point attempts. They also turned 19 IUPUI turnovers into 22 points.
Donovan Gibbs and Mitchell Patton led the Jaguars (3-7) with 10 points each, and Gibbs had a game-high six rebounds.
No. 6 FLORIDA 72, FLORIDA ST. 47: In Tallahassee, Fla., Kenny Boynton and Mike Rosario both scored 14 points and Florida romped over the defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion.
Boyntons layup with 8:57 left gave the Gators their largest lead, 62-25.
Florida (7-0) has held five opponents to less than 50 points this season while taking its fourth straight win over the Seminoles.
No. 19 MICHIGAN ST. 76, ARKANSAS PINE-BLUFF 44: In East Lansing, Mich., Michigan State held Arkansas-Pine Bluff scoreless for almost 10 minutes and went on to win. Garry Harris scored 13 points, Travis Trice had 12 and Branden Dawson added 10 for the Spartans (7-2).
BALL ST. 76, HOLY CROSS (Ind.) 57: In Muncie, Majok Majok had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Cardinals.
Marcus Posley had 14 points and five assists for the Cardinals (3-4). Jauwan Scaife added 11 points and Michael Ramey scored 10.
INDIANA TECH 72, CONCORDIA 62: Antonio Cannon scored 20 points, Jordan Hickman 16 and Antonio Landers 14 and 10 rebounds to lead Tech (10-2, 4-1) past Concordia at Tech.
SAINT FRANCIS 78, IU-SOUTHEAST 71: Scott Kohne scored 26 and had 12 rebounds and Kevin Bloom scored 16 including five three-pointers to lead the Cougars (8-2) at Hutzell Athletic Center. Brad Sneary had 15 rebounds for the Cougars.
ROSE-HULMAN 70, MANCHESTER 52: Jon Thompson scored 16 points, Greg Flores 11 and Jared Schrock 10 for host Manchester (3-5, 0-2), which was outscored 45-27 in the second half.
CREIGHTON 66, NO. 25 NEBRASKA 57: In Omaha, Neb., Marissa Janning provided the spark Creighton needed off the bench, leading the Bluejays with 19 points.
No. 21 NORTH CAROLINA 64, RADFORD 44: In Chapel Hill, N.C., Waltiea Rolle scored 24 points and Xylina McDaniel had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead North Carolina.
CONCORDIA 83, INDIANA TECH 60: At Tech, Chelsea Carradine (18 points), Ulyssia Richmond (15) and Rachael Kruse (14) led the Warriors (2-8, 2-3), who trailed just 38-35 at the half but were outscored 40-25 in the second half. Tech made just 9-of-27 shots (.333) in the second half, was outrebounded 42-33 and turned it over 20 times.
MANCHESTER 53, ROSE-HULMAN 40: Katie Arterburns 15 points and Janelle Moss 14 led Manchester (2-4, 2-0) at Rose-Hulman. The Spartans took advantage of 24 Rose-Hulman turnovers.
