Irish's Te'o wins Lombardi Award

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o added another postseason honor Wednesday night.

Te’o was named the winner of the Lombardi Award, given to the nation’s top lineman, linebacker or tight end. He was in Houston to collect the award.

Te’o has already won the ARA sportsmanship award, Butkus Award (top linebacker) and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy (best defensive player).

The 6-foot-2, 255-pound senior is also a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award (defensive player of the year), Maxwell Award (player of the year) and Lott IMPACT Award.

Te’o led the Irish with 103 tackles, had seven interceptions and recovered two fumbles this season.
