FORT WAYNE – Three people were in custody Tuesday afternoon after a gunman demanded money at a northeast side business.

Officers were called Chosen Christian Beauty & Barber College, 6422 Georgetown North Blvd., shortly before 1 p.m.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a male with his face concealed was brandishing a handgun and demanding money, according to a written statement from the Fort Wayne Police Department.

It said he was unable to get any cash and fled out a back door and into a nearby vehicle.

With witness descriptions, an office on patrol soon stopped a vehicle on the 3500 block of Reynolds Street. One person took off on foot and was caught, and police said three people were being held in connection with the attempted robbery.
