Stutzman tapped for Financial Services Committee

Statement as issued Tuesday by the office of Marlin Stutzman:

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) issued the following statement regarding his selection for the House Financial Services Committee.

“The finance industry has a proud history in Northeast Indiana and I look forward to taking Hoosier perspectives to the Financial Services Committee,” said Stutzman. “With our national economy struggling, many Hoosiers looking for work, and small businesses fighting to keep their doors open, I look forward to using this new committee assignment to help end the era of bailouts and over-regulation.”

The House Financial Services Committee has jurisdiction over issues pertaining to the economy, the banking system, housing, insurance, and securities and exchanges. Additionally, the Committee also has jurisdiction over monetary policy, international finance, international monetary organizations, and efforts to combat terrorist financing.

The Committee is responsible for oversight of the Federal Reserve Board and individual reserve banks, the Treasury, the production and distribution of currency, and the Nation’s capital markets.
