    Mad Ants guard Ron Howard and center Tommy Smith accepted invitations to the NBA Development League Elite Mini Camp, which started Monday and runs through Tuesday in Chicago.

    It wasn't only the Mad Ants that made 2012-13 their best season; the rest of the NBA Development League had a record-setting year, as well.

Ants trail at half

The Mad Ants trail Iowa at halftime, 53-49 in Friday's D-League game at Memorial Coliseum.

The Ants trailed by as many as 14 points late in the first quarter, 31-17. But Fort Wayne's stepped-up defense enabled it to catch the Energy at 41-all when JaJuan Johnson dropped two free throws with 5:18 left in the first half.

Sadiel Rojas has 10 points for the Ants, while former Oral Roberts standout Dominic Morrison leads Iowa with 15 points.
