Victims in street shooting identified

Police have identified the victims of a shooting Monday afternoon on Fort Wayne’s south side.

Keneisha A. Eley, 24, was shot multiple times, and Tyrion L. McNair, 19, was shot at least twice, police said.

The two, who are both city residents, were found wounded near the corner of Boltz and Warsaw streets. Eley is McNair’s girlfriend, said officer Raquel Foster, a police spokeswoman.

Eley, who was in critical condition Monday, had improved to serious condition Tuesday, and McNair was in fair condition. Both remained hospitalized, police said.

Detectives received a report of a vehicle leaving the area that may have been involved in the shooting, but police did not release a description of the vehicle or the shooter.

“We have some theories on a possible motive,” Foster said. “It does not appear to be random.”
