IPFW loses to Navy

Kendall Knorr made all six of his field-goal attempts – including all three of shots from three-point range – and he finished with 15.points in Navy’s 54-49 victory over IPFW’s men’s basketball team at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, Md., on Wednesday night.

Navy (4-4) also got 11 points from Brandon Venturini and 10 from Worth Smith, as Navy shot 44.4 percent from the field.

The Mastodons (4-4) shot only 37 percent and had only one player, Isaiah McCray, score in double figures. McCray had 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting, though he was 3 for 3 from three-point range.

Marion Hines had eight points for IPFW, which had a 36-26 rebounding edge.

IPFW was down eight points at halftime. In the second half, its shooting improved from 27.3 percent to 45.8 percent, but it wasn’t enough to get the road victory.
